It’s the unrefined, raw moments captured in these images that paint an intimate love story. When I saw these, I was completely captivated by their honesty. It’s a gift when a photographer can capture the uncontrived happenings of a wedding with such beauty and unique perspective. I love the play of light and shadow cast upon the bride as she ascends the staircase-absolutely stunning. As for my favorite image, it’s a toss-up between the introspective groom gazing out over the balcony and the elderly man overwhelmed by this happy occasion. Preston Utley has a talent for sharing the emotion of his subjects; I can’t wait to see more of his work!

WOW... dude.... I can't even put into words what you were able to capture at our wedding... BEAUTIFUL... great song too. Let us know what we need to do to get a dvd of that music video slide show you put together, it is amazing!!

hey preston-
i've been meaning to write you for a while to thank you for sending the DVDs with all of the wedding photos. there are some good shots on there! it was great to see so much of what happened at the wedding that we were completely oblivious of. and there were the shots of the guests that were not part of the original set, which were nice to see as well.
jenny and i were at a friend's wedding a couple of weeks ago, at one point later in the night the bride and groom were all alone on the dance floor looking in to each other's eyes, happy as could be dancing with the band jamming in the background. their punk photographer was leaning against a nearby column with his camera slung over his back, sipping a coke. i said "take a picture of that!". he said "of what?". i pointed and he lazily snapped one photo. so it made jenny and i appreciate your professionalism and dedication.

Hey Preston - we got the album yesterday and it is fantastic - really blew us away. Thanks a bunch for all the hard work - Melissa wants to do everything again - I am however thinking looking at the album instead will save a bunch of moola and many brain cells. preston- your work is amazing! we were looking for someone who captured candid shots, the moments as they were occuring and put it together to tell our wedding story. we didn't want to have to spend time posing for each picture-we just wanted to relax and enjoy our day! you allowed us to do just that! you were so much fun to be around and chose such unique shots. and most of all we LOVE our pictures! we've gotten so many compliments-they are truley a work of art!

Hi Preston –
I wanted to let you know how happy we are with the photos of Erin and Travis’ wedding. They really are beautiful in every way! I love the way the entire day is chronicled as it really happened, rather than as a series of pretty posed pictures. You managed to capture the real emotions involved. I especially like all the photos of Erin and Travis getting ready. There is so much detail and background action in these: the little flower girl in the background watching Erin, the dog at Travis’ feet; you can feel the excitement of everyone getting ready. Dressing a daughter for her wedding is a really special moment for any mother and I had really hoped for at least one nice photo of Erin and I together and you got quite a few. I especially loved the close up detail photo of my hands tying Erin into her dress – that is a really special photo. And the one of me with my hands to my face after seeing her in her veil the first time is another favorite. I made that veil for her with the lace from my own veil, so that was an emotional moment.
And thanks for getting all those great photos of my mother, both alone and with Erin! Those photos are particularly precious to Erin and I.
The ceremony photos are exquisite! I saw so much that I did not notice during the ceremony. The expressions on Travis’ face are beautiful and the photos of Erin and Travis together are stunning. Again, details are terrific – great photos of a lot of the people there. And I love the unposed photos of Erin and her maid of honor, Melyssa, laughing together. That is a real natural look for those two.
Again, we really loved them and thought you did a wonderful job.
Congratulations on your recent awards – someone with your talent will probably have many more!

We received the photo CD in the mail today. The packaging was very cool. We are still deciding what to do about an actual wedding album. I'm leaning towards having you do it. I would rather pay a little bit more and know that it's going to live up to expectations.
